Which opportunities do auditors have on the labour market?

What are the tasks and responsibilities of auditors?

Auditors act as business consultants and conduct audits. They analyse all processes within companies with regard to correctness, safety, suitability and profitability. Auditors check documents, evaluate data and conduct interviews with the employees of the respective department. Then they develop suggestions for improvement based on their findings.

Once the analysis is completed, they hold final meetings with the managers of the respective departments. They also prepare audit reports in German and English.

On average, their starting salary is about EUR 36,800 per year; senior auditors may earn up to EUR 52,800. Salaries for auditors are highest in Hesse, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. With several years of professional experience, managerial responsibility and tasks at international level, auditors can earn up to EUR 84,000 per year there.
