ARGGONAUTS research project

Exact recordings from a depth of 4,000 m in absolute darkness and under extreme water pressure – until now, this has only been possible with huge technical effort and high costs. Fortunately, the ARGGONAUTS team has started to develop innovative underwater drones and thus finally enabled large-scale, affordable deep-see explorations. This research team consisting of 25 experts from the Fraunhofer Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploitation (IOSB) in Karlsruhe is the only German participant in the final of Shell Ocean Discovery XPRIZE, an international, three-year research competition offering USD 7 million in prize money.

Hays stands for expertise and attaches great importance to its promotion. Since November 2017, we have been the official sponsoring partner of the team. Thus, we do not only support sustainable deep-sea exploration, but can also list a top project among our references in the engineering and IT area, as two of our business partners, Christian Ladda and Ralph Schönfelder, have participated in the development of the underwater drone (see picture) since July 2017.
