My duties
  • Drive the research and development of the next-generation technologies at the intersection of cloud object storage and compute-in-storage.
  • Be responsible for the research, architecture, design, and implementation of the next-generation of computing-capable object storage technologies.
  • Focus on vertical integration innovations across cloud services exploiting the novel concept of Near-Data Processing (NDP) to improve the Big Data and Machine Learning solutions.
  • Track the latest progress of industry and academia on object storage, compute-in-storage, and data processing technologies.
  • Improve data processing efficiency in Big Data and Machine Learning solutions, actively participate in academic conferences, promote computing-capable object storage ecosystem construction and external cooperation, and improve the overall influence of the Cloud of our customer.
  • Plan the software technology and IP and collaboration strategy, lead the selection, adoption, and participation of relevant industry standards, and formulate a technology roadmap that forms the basis for a highly competitive product portfolio.
  • Clarify the software requirements with the relevant parties, guide the entire prototyping and agile software life-cycle, make decisions about the realization of the designed key technical solutions, and participate and provide guidance to the team.
My qualifications
  • BSc/MSc in computer science or other domain-related disciplines.
  • In-depth experience in cloud object storage, Big Data, and Machine Learning.
  • Deep technological understanding of cloud storage technologies, such as Amazon S3, Azure Storage, Google Cloud Storage, and distributed file systems like HDFS and GFS.
  • Deep technological understanding of Big Data frameworks, such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Presto, along with file formats and storage optimizations.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning technologies, such as Keras, Tensorflow, Pytorch. 
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and Big Data Services, such as AWS EC2 and AWS EMR respectively.
  • Ability to read academic papers, write patents, and communicate with external experts, along with experience in community development and maintenance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team-work spirit, and independent working capability.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
