Step by step towards a sustainable supply chain
We accompany you on the way to a sustainable supply chain from a compliance and environmental perspective.
The sustainable supply chain is a decisive factor for the success of modern companies. It encompasses the entire value chain of a product or service - from the extraction of raw materials to production and delivery to the end customer. It is not just about efficiency and cost reduction, but above all about upholding ecological and social standards. Companies that make their supply chains sustainable actively contribute to the protection of human rights and the environment while minimising risks such as reputational damage or legal consequences.
What are sustainable supply chains?
-
Environmentally friendly production processes
Reduction of CO₂ emissions, economical use of resources and
minimisation of waste.

-
Social responsibility
Ensuring fair working conditions, avoiding child labour and respecting human rights. - Transparency and traceability
Companies must be able to trace the origin of their products and ensure that everyone involved along the supply chain acts responsibly.
Sustainable supply chains aim to minimise negative impacts on people and the environment while ensuring long-term economic success. They are an essential part of sustainable procurement and sustainable purchasing, in which companies not only consider the price of a product, but also its environmental footprint and social impact.
Why a sustainable supply chain is crucial
Numerous scientific studies confirm that companies that integrate sustainability along the value chain not only improve their image, but are also more efficient, resilient and innovative.1

Strengthen reputation
Studies show that customers strongly associate a company's image with its sustainable procurement practices.2 Particularly in sectors such as fashion, electronics and food, consumers are increasingly looking to ensure that products are manufactured under fair working conditions and in an environmentally friendly manner. Sustainable supply chains therefore not only help to minimise risk but are also a decisive factor for long-term market success.

Which legal requirements justify the obligation to have a sustainable supply chain?
The obligation to have a sustainable supply chain is a legal requirement that encourages companies to organise their supply chains in an environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner.
The Lieferkettengesetz (LkSG) currently applies in Germany, which obliges companies with more than 1,000 employees to identify and minimise human rights and environmental risks in their supply chains. With the introduction of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) by the European Union, the responsibility of companies for their global supply chains has been further tightened.
What is the CSDDD?
-
EU companies with more than 1,000 employees and a global turnover of more than 450 million euros.
- Third-country companies that generated net sales of more than 450 million euros in the EU in the previous financial year.
What sanctions are used to enforce the CSDDD?
