Experiences with temporary work
at Hays
"Starting my career was made really easy for me – I had someone on hand who I could always turn to. Someone who takes an interest, asks questions and who I can always approach if I have any questions or problems."
Tabea, Project Assistant
"I had the opportunity to work at two companies that I would never have applied to otherwise, for example a software company that is one of the top three in the world. That's why I see temporary work as a door opener. For me, it was a springboard to my current job."

Frequently asked questions
about temporary work
The notice period for temporary work is based on the legal requirements (§ 622 BGB) and the collective agreements (iGZ/DGB) applied by Hays.
Short notice periods (usually 2 weeks) apply in the first few months. The notice periods are extended gradually as the length of service increases.
In principle, there is no fixed maximum duration for employment with a temporary employment agency. As long as the client company has a need for you and you want to continue, the employment relationship can remain in place – often there are even options for permanent employment.
Temporary employment is subject to legal requirements such as the Temporary Employment Act (AÜG) and collective agreements. Fair working conditions, equal pay after 9 months and compliance with all rules are important.
The chances of being taken on are very good: many companies use temporary work as an entry point for skilled workers. According to Hays statistics, a large proportion of temporary workers are taken on after a successful assignment.
Temporary work at Hays offers security through a permanent employment contract, social security, conditions regulated by collective agreements and all the advantages of permanent employment. In addition, you benefit from further training opportunities and reliable support.
Since 1 January 2025, the statutory minimum wage of €12.82 per hour has applied (decision of the Minimum Wage Commission). In addition, there is a minimum wage collective agreement for the temporary employment industry. The minimum wages specified therein correspond to the hourly wages of pay group 1 and are set as a binding minimum wage in accordance with Section 3a of the German Temporary Employment Act (AÜG). Depending on the industry in which you are employed, surcharges may be added, which significantly increase the effective hourly wage.
