Your responsibilities

You will become part of a team consist of Hydraulic specialists and Design Engineers in a global organization, with team members located in Spain and Denmark, and with a design center in India. In this role, you will be accountable for the technical solution design and implementation from cradle to grave, from the moment of conception of conceptual design according to the specifications and input loads, all through the detail design phase ensuring deliverables on-time for each stage of the project. Your main responsibilities will be: 
  • Conceptual design of complete hydraulic system at system level, sizing the main components from Functional specification and wind loads analysis by simulation and analytical calculations.
  • Detail design of hydraulic system main components, hydraulic diagram and generation of purchase specifications.
  • Interaction with hydraulic suppliers to define the technical solutions of the main hydraulic components according to the specifications and eBOM definition with the list of commercial components. 
  • You must be able of challenging the suppliers to define the best solution that fits with the specifications, quality and cost and grant the interchangeability among different suppliers.
  • Generate DFMEA and DRA for the complete hydraulic system and implement the necessary actions for risk mitigation.
  • Revision of 3D and 2D manufacturing drawings generated by the CAD designers.
  • Definition of control and supervision requirements for actuators and sensors and interaction with Software department in charge of programming those strategies.
  • Interaction with Loads and Control department providing the necessary parameters to integrate the pitch system model in the global wind turbine model for loads generation. 
  • Generate pitch system capacity assessment report for certification and review regularly each new load release iteration. 
  • Definition of validation plan and acceptance criteria and interaction with validation department.
  • Supporting during commissioning phase of prototypes and first serial units, monitoring, test and verification phase.

Your profile

  • Need to have: 
  • You are graduate/postgraduate in Mechanical engineering / hydraulic system design
  • 8-10+ years of experience and especially a plus with wind turbines
  • Your domain knowledge is within hydraulic systems (preferable from wind turbine pitch systems); design of hydraulic components: Hydraulic Power Units, Accumulators, Rotating Unions, Proportional valves, Hydraulic cylinders, manifold blocks, hoses and fittings, spherical bearings, linear position transducers.
  • You have an experience in developing overall hydraulic solutions - conceptual designs expressed in Hydraulic Diagrams, to meet the wind loads demand.
  • Design hydraulic components according to the Product Requirements Specification to meet requirements such as functionality, robustness, cost effectiveness, manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance.
  • You have an experience in dynamic simulations of hydraulic systems (Simscape – Simulink – Simhydraulics) and wind timeseries postprocessing to define design inputs and hydraulic capacity assessment.
  • You can drive technical reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
  • International Hydraulic Standards - ISO 4413 and Directive 2014/68 EU: Pressure equipment
  • D-FMEA and Design Risk Assessments
  • 3D CAD design SW experience
  • Working knowledge on PLM / Engineering Change Management process (Team-center or similar)
  • Good teamwork aptitudes and communication skills, and capable of on time delivery with quality in critical work pressure. 
  • English advanced user preferred, minimum C1 level.
  • Nice to have: 3D/2D CAD Software, preferable Siemens NX experience, for review and support CAD designers
